February 5th. 2007 Copperchase Install LIDO/AFTN Gateway for Kuwait Airways Copperchase are pleased to announce the successful installation and commissioning of the Copperchase AFTN Gateway with LIDO (Lufthansa Integrated Dispatch Operation) interface at Kuwait Airways facilities in Kuwait City. The installation is the pinnacle of several months of careful planning and technical consultancy from Copperchase, experts in the Aviation messaging environment. Understanding the full messaging and interface requirements was critical in the planning phase of the project; during which both Kuwait Airways technical staff and the Copperchase project team worked very closely to ascertain the necessary level of detail. The Copperchase Gateway provides a seamless interface between the AFTN Message Switch installed at Kuwait International Airport and the LIDO Flight Planning System based in Frankfurt. Communication between the two systems is achieved by using the IBM network communications technology WebSphere MQ (previously known as MQ Series). Interface software developed by Copperchase performs all the protocol conversion needed between the three systems; AFTN, LIDO and MQ Series. Copperchase were able to meet the very specific deadlines set by Kuwait Airways, to fall into a larger project implementation as Kuwait Airways made the transition to the LIDO system. Mr. Naser Hassan of Kuwait Airways operations department said, “The level of assistance from the initial sales enquiry through post-installation support has been very pleasing.
