The Copperchase MET Display Software is an option that can be incorporated into the Copperchase Weather Editor software.
When a METAR is compiled, either manually or automatically, using the Weather Editor application, then the METAR data can also be distributed to the Copperchase MET Display terminals.
The MET Data is presented in the form of an HTML Web page, which is automatically updated, when new data is available. The Web page can be viewed using a Web Browser by anyone connected to the network who has the appropriate access permissions. Copperchase provide a very simple Browser called CPCBrowse, however the page can be viewed by most of the popular commercially available Web Browsers.
Major Benefits -
Copperchase see major benefits in using the Web based approach to provide data. In particular:
- It is scaleable. Effectively any person on the network with the appropriate permissions can access the data by means of a standard Web browser.
- It is configurable. Because the display technology is based upon HTML with scripting, it is easy to alter the layouts of displays for different customers without affecting the underlying data. Colours, Fonts and the content can all be configured.
- Separates the User Interface from the Data. By removing the user interface issues into the HTML page, it allows Copperchase to concentrate on the provision of the data rather than how it is to be presented to the user.
