Copperchase wins upgrade contract in Dubai

In 2006, Copperchase was awarded a contract by the Goverment of Dubai on behalf of the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) to supply an upgrade to their Copperchase DATALINK Automatic Terminal Information (D-ATIS). The upgrade provides the delivery of separate arrival and departure ATIS messages over VHF and Datalink ACARS.

In April 2007, the Copperchase D-ATIS at Dubai was upgraded to decode Aerodrome Warnings and METREP data from the Vaisala MET Observation System.

The Copperchase ATIS is a fully automated aeronautical information broadcast system for use at airports for approaching and departing aircraft. Runway serviceability, local airport procedures/services and meteorological information received from external communications networks, or generated locally, are converted to digitised speech for manual/automatic transmission. The D-ATIS makes this information available to aircraft via the Aircraft Communication and Reporting System (ACARS).
