Copperchase upgrade dual AFGATE system at Glasgow Prestwick International Airport

In order to keep the system at Glasgow Prestwick up to date, Copperchase were asked to provide a hardware and software upgrade to the existing Dual AFGATE system.

The Dual AFGATE consists of two PCs, one operational and one used as an immediate stand-by, adding a certain level of required resilience. The primary use for the equipment at the airport is to collate all AFTN messages, flight plans, MET information and NOTAMs received from the AFTN onto a workstation in ATC. GPIA use the AFGATE as an operating platform for Copperchase Flight Data Management System (FDMS), interface to CFMU via the Departure Slot Monitor (DSM) and Flight Strip Editor.

Copperchase provided new hardware, installed the latest version of the popular AFGATE software and performed the switch-over from the old system to the new version.
