Copperchase supply the Ricochet ATC recorder to the Isles of Scilly
The Ricochet system installed by Copperchase at St Mary's Airport, Isles of Scilly, is a complete logging and replay system for audio (voice), radar, CCTV and almost any digital data source for ATC applications.
The Ricochet system, designed in Norway by Software Systems AS, meets the functional requirements for CNS/ATM record and replay systems as set out in EUROCAE document ED-111 and the ICAO Standards & Recommended Practices (SARPs) for ATS recording systems.
The solution offered by Copperchase has been configured to record up to 10 channels of audio with the option to expand this number in the future. It records data to RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) and archives to removable storage media (DVD) for long-term storage and, when necessary, for transcription by either the UK CAA or UK AAIB. The system provides ATC staff at St. Mary's with flexibility in service and ease of use.
Copperchase has worked closely with the UK CAA Safety Regulatory Group (SRG) to ensure that the Ricochet Recorder used at St Mary's airport is fully compliant with UK Regulatory Requirements (CAP 670; COM-01).
Allan Hicks, the Airport Manager at St Mary's Airport praised the Ricochet system and commented, "The Ricochet system is so powerful yet at the same time wonderfully simple and intuitive to use."
Copperchase has established an excellent reputation among its customers for quality and for its equipment. It has an extensive client base that spans the globe, from Europe to Asia Pacific, and from Africa to the Americas.
