Copperchase supply and install D-ATIS into Dubai International Airport
In March 2004, Dubai International appointed Copperchase Ltd to enhance their existing airport operations by installing D-ATIS.
The Copperchase D-ATIS merges MET and ATC information on an airfield and converts it into an audible (voice) signal. The ATIS signal is then distributed via a data link (ACARS), radio transmitter or any other audio device. The CPC D-ATIS can support the transmission of the broadcast in English and a local language.
With the introduction of the Copperchase D-ATIS, suitably equipped aircraft now have the ability to obtain ATIS information anywhere in the world at any given time using the data link network. The CPC D-ATIS allows Dubai to deliver the ATIS message directly to the on-board printer or MCDU via the ACARS network currently installed in the aircraft of Emirates Airlines and many other airlines.
Colin Hewson, from Dubai International, explained, "After the activation of ACARS equipment in Emirates Airlines aircraft, the introduction of CPC D-ATIS in Dubai took place, thus directing communication in a more reliable way."
Copperchase has developed a broad range of ATC products and formed strategic alliances and business partnerships with some of the world’s leading manufacturers. This allows Copperchase to ensure a total system solution that meets each customer’s needs. Copperchase also offer installation and maintenance services on all supplied systems, including products from our alliance partners.
