Copperchase supply AFTN communication services

Copperchase Ltd won the contract to supply AFTN communications with additional Flight Data Management facilities to Page Telecom of Madrid, Spain.

With the deployment of the Copperchase FDMS, this project will see Namibia DCA advance its entire suite of Copperchase strip-printing systems in airports nationwide.

Copperchase FDMS is a tool for managing flight information and the generation of flight progress strips through its ability to maintain a database of flights. By using the communications and routing features of the Copperchase AFTN Router, the FDMS will store and automatically apply changes and modifications to flight plans received on the AFTN, thus bringing together an unprecedented level of connectivity throughout Namibia.

Furthermore, the proven FDMS technology will assist the DCA in modernisation by creating a national standard for Flight Data Management.

Phase one of the project is scheduled to commence in the latter part of 2005, when a project team from Copperchase will provide project management, Installation and training.
