Copperchase install state-of-the-art ATC Data System at Durham Tees Valley Airport.

In March 2005, Copperchase Ltd supplied Durham Tees Valley Airport (DTVA) with a comprehensive ATC data system for managing their day-to-day operations. The total system delivered comprised a number of components, including a MET Display System (METSYS), an Automatic Terminal Information System (ATIS) and a Flight Data Management System (FDMS).

Because of changes in the current observing/ coding rules imposed by ICAO, the existing MET Observing system was replaced with the Copperchase METSYSY.  METSYS, which conforms to UK and International (ICAO) standards and regulations, is a modern data display system that provides a reliable weather editor displaying current MET information taken from the airfield sensors.

The Copperchase ATIS was integrated into the METSYS. This provides DTVA with the capability to convert MET and pertinent airport information into an audible (VHF) voice signal, also available via the optional PSTN interface

The Copperchase Flight Data Management System (FDMS) assists with the management of DTVA’s flight information through its ability to maintain a database of current flights. By utilising the communications and routing features of the Copperchase AFTN Gateway (AFGATE), on which it is based, the FDMS will store and automatically apply changes and modifications to flight plans received.
