ATC data system upgrade at Newcastle International
In May 2005 Copperchase supplied and installed an ATC data system upgrade for Newcastle International Airport (NIA).
It was identified that the strip printers in use for Flight Progress procedures at NIA had become obsolete and were due for replacement. In addition the airport also required an automated interface for the ATC movements log to the Airport Billing Administration System.
Copperchase offered the very popular Flight Data Management System (FDMS), a solution that included the renewal of all PC hardware and strip printers, providing an up-to-date technological solution to satisfy the NIA requirements
The introduction of the Copperchase FDMS provides NIA ATC staff with an effective tool for managing flight information through the generation of flight strips in the airport terminal environment. Being 100% compatible with the previous generation of Copperchase strip printing systems, this meant that only minimal training in the use of the FDMS was required. The system was up and running with very little disruption to the ATC service at NIA.
Chris Davis, Manager of ATS at NIA, remarked, "We are delighted to have installed the Copperchase FDMS system. This state-of-the-art technology is vital to the safe and efficient processing of flight data and aircraft movement logging. The system was delivered on time and within budget to the highest standard expected by Newcastle Airport."
Copperchase endeavour to supply the highest quality of service, and aim to ensure, or exceed, customer satisfaction at all times.
