simplify the collation and dissemination of data within the
ATC environment.
Built upon the facilities of Copperchase’s Message
Processing Systems, the ATC Data Systems provide a range of
End Systems that support a number of key ATC facilities for
Tower, Approach and other environments.
 FDMS
–
Flight Data Management System |

FDMS provides ATC staff (Departure
and Approach Control) with a tool for managing flight
information and the generation of Flight Progress Strips,
through its ability to maintain a database of flights. Using
the communications and routing features of Copperchase’s
AFTN Router, the FDMS will store and automatically apply
changes and modifications to flight plans received on the
AFTN. Standard formatted strips are automatically
printed at specific times prior to EOBT/ETOA, and if necessary
these are reprinted with updated information at nominated
positions.The FDMS is ‘CFMU Aware’, and adjusts flight
departures according to the dictates of the Eurocontrol
Central Flow Management Unit. A Departure Slot Monitor (DSM)
is available as a separate module. Additional facilities
include RPL Management (Eurocontrol RPL input format),
Movement Logs and Reports, On-Line Data Interchange (OLDI),
and Electronic Strip.

ATIS
– Automatic Terminal Information System |

ATIS is an Automatic Flight
Information System that merges the current Meteorological and
Air Traffic Control information on an airfield and converts it
into an audible, vocal signal.This ATIS signal can then be
distributed via Datalink (ACARS), radio transmitter, or any
other audio device (such as a telephone network). Aircrew can
tune into the correct radio frequency to hear the ATIS
transmission, thus reducing the Controller-Pilot radio chatter
on initial contact.The Copperchase ATIS supports the
transmission of the ATIS broadcast in English and a local
language.

| METSYS

Meteorological Display System |

METSYS comprises a number
of MET Displays, a Data Gathering processor, and a suite of
sensors, which measure, collect and disseminate weather data
at an airfield.The MET Displays present these meteorological
attributes on a number of dedicated screens at strategic
places within the ATC environment (VCR, RDR and Briefing).
METSYS can be used effectively with the Copperchase ATIS to
provide a semi-automated meteorological observation system.

The AIS Management System
collects NOTAM and other information to ensure the safety,
regularity and efficiency of air navigation.The system
complies with ICAO Annex 15 and Document 8126. It can be used
as a server for the Pre-Flight Briefing System - either
locally or from the Internet.
The Briefing Terminal
provides a Pre-Flight Information Bulletin (PIB) Service for use by Occasional Fliers, Aircraft Operators
(AOs) and Air Traffic Services (ATS). It provides access to a
source of worldwide MET, NOTAM and Aviation charts - either
from a local source (AIS NOTAM Management, above) or via the
Internet from our own servers, based in the UK.

Briefing Terminal
The Ricochet is a complete Logging
and Replay System for audio (voice), Radar, CCTV and almost
any digital data source. For ATC applications, Ricochet conforms to standards and
recommendations imposed by ICAO (Annex 10 Volume II, chapter
3.5), and implements many industry standards, including
TCP/IP, SNMP, PCI and ODBC.
